Our Story & Philosophy
In a city where two-thirds of residents rent their homes, we noticed something missing: interior design services that truly understand and celebrate the renter's experience. We founded LiveIn to change that narrative, creating a design practice exclusively for New York City's dynamic renter population.
About
Hi I am Lena, an interior designer living in Brooklyn. After graduating from Pratt’s master interior design program during the pandemic, I started working at an architecture firm in downtown Manhattan. After a few years working on some large scale commercial projects, I decided to do something more meaningful to myself. I started LiveIn because I’ve always believed that design should be accessible, personal, and responsive to how we actually live in cities. LiveIn is an interior design studio grounded in the belief that better spatial relationships can transform how urban dwellers live, work, and play.
At the heart of our practice is a simple truth: your living environment profoundly shapes your daily experience—whether you own or rent. As someone who’s lived in rentals for much of my life, I know how easy it is to fall into the mindset of “someday I’ll make my space what I want.” But I also know how powerful it feels to come home to a place that truly reflects who you are—right now.
My design approach is rooted in urban living: making the most of every square foot, balancing beauty with function, and creating spaces that adapt to the rhythms of daily life. For me, it’s not just about decorating rooms—it’s about shaping environments that support habits, spark creativity, and bring joy into the everyday.
